Chateaubriand Fellow - Mouvements des poissons perroquets

I have been selected to receive a 2021-2022 STEM Chateaubriand Fellowship to work with Dr. Simon Benhamou at Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in Montpellier, France! I will work with Dr. Benhamou to quantify patterns of space-use in Caribbean parrotfishes and to investigate the influence of social behavior on movement in these important coral reef fishes. I recently returned from Bonaire, Caribbean Netherlands, where I spent 2.5 months collecting the data for this project along with two interns, Krista Laforest and Lena Kury. This work will contribute to my dissertation research investigating the role of territorial behavior in driving patterns of space-use and foraging on coral reefs. I look forward to collaborating with Dr. Benhamou and networking with the other amazing researchers at CNRS.
